If your vehicle is showing steering wheel is off-center when driving straight, here are the most likely causes and the parts you'll need to fix each one.
Normal suspension settling, wear, or hitting potholes can knock the front wheels out of alignment. If the toe angle is uneven, the steering wheel will sit crooked when driving straight.
Replacing steering or suspension parts changes the suspension geometry. If a proper wheel alignment isn't performed immediately after the repair, the steering wheel will almost always be off-center.
Hitting a curb or deep pothole can bend a tie rod or severely wear its ends. This directly alters the steering linkage length, throwing the alignment and steering wheel off-center.
Worn bushings or ball joints allow the wheels to shift under load. This changes the alignment dynamically while driving, causing the steering wheel to sit crooked.
Significantly uneven tire pressure, mismatched tires, or a defective tire belt (radial pull) can cause the vehicle to pull to one side, forcing you to hold the wheel off-center to drive straight.
