If your coolant level is low due to a leak or consumption, hot fluid cannot reach the heater core to warm the cabin. This is the most frequent cause of a cold heater and can lead to engine overheating.
If the cooling system was recently serviced, flushed, or had parts replaced and was not properly bled, trapped air bubbles can block hot coolant from flowing through the heater core.
The thermostat regulates engine temperature. If it fails in the open position, the engine constantly cools itself and never reaches proper operating temperature, resulting in lukewarm heater air.
This small electric motor controls the flaps inside your dashboard that mix hot and cold air. If it breaks or strips its gears, the system may be stuck blowing cold air even when the engine is fully warmed up.
Over time, neglected coolant can cause rust and debris to build up, clogging the narrow tubes inside the heater core. This prevents hot coolant from circulating through the dashboard.
