If your vehicle is showing heater blows cold air even when the engine is fully warmed up, here are the most likely causes and the parts you'll need to fix each one.
If the engine coolant is low, or if there is an air pocket trapped in the system, hot coolant cannot reach the heater core. This is frequently caused by a small leak or failing to properly bleed the cooling system after recent repairs.
The blend door actuator is a small electric motor that directs airflow over the hot heater core. If the motor burns out or its internal plastic gears strip, it will get stuck blowing cold air.
Over time, rust, scale, or mixing incompatible coolants can clog the narrow tubes inside the heater core. This restricts the flow of hot coolant, preventing the system from generating heat.
Some vehicles use a physical valve to block hot coolant from entering the cabin when the AC is on. If this valve gets stuck closed or its vacuum line breaks, no heat will reach the interior.
The climate control module in the dashboard may have an internal electrical failure, preventing it from sending the signal to the blend door actuator or heater valve to switch to heat.
In rare cases, the fins on the water pump impeller can erode away. It may circulate just enough coolant to keep the engine from overheating at idle, but not enough to push it up into the heater core.
