If your vehicle is showing suspension fault or air suspension warning light on dash, here are the most likely causes and the parts you'll need to fix each one.
The rubber bladders in air suspension struts dry rot and crack over time, causing air leaks. The system detects the pressure loss or the inability to reach target height and triggers a fault.
Often a secondary failure caused by a leaking air strut. The compressor runs constantly to keep the vehicle lifted, eventually overheating and burning out.
These sensors sit exposed in the wheel well. Their physical plastic linkages can snap, or the electrical sensor can fail from water intrusion, confusing the suspension computer.
The valve block directs air to individual wheels. Moisture in the system or worn O-rings can cause the internal solenoids to stick, leading to uneven ride height or pressure faults.
As the air compressor ages or works harder due to system leaks, it draws more electrical current, which can melt the relay contacts or blow the system fuse.
If suspension work was recently performed, failing to run a ride-height calibration scan, leaving a sensor disconnected, or accidentally pinching an air line during reassembly will immediately trigger a fault.
