If your vehicle is showing power window won't roll up or down, here are the most likely causes and the parts you'll need to fix each one.
The mechanical cables or plastic clips inside the door break, or the electric motor burns out from age. You will often hear a grinding or clicking noise when pressing the button if the motor is trying to move a broken regulator.
The electrical contacts inside the switch wear out or get corroded from moisture and frequent use. If the window works from the driver's master switch but not the passenger door, the passenger switch is likely bad.
An electrical short or an aging, binding window motor can cause the power window fuse to blow or the relay to fail. This typically causes all of the power windows to stop working at the exact same time.
If the door panel was recently removed for speaker, mirror, or latch repairs, the window switch or motor connector may not have been plugged back in securely.
