The front shocks or struts have lost their hydraulic dampening ability. Without this resistance, the vehicle's weight shifts forward rapidly and compresses the front suspension during braking.
Coil springs support the weight of the vehicle. Over time, they can weaken or sag, failing to provide enough resistance against the forward weight transfer when stopping.
If the rear brakes are worn out, seized, or out of adjustment, the front brakes are forced to do almost all the stopping. This severe braking imbalance pulls the front of the vehicle down aggressively.
Degraded rubber bushings allow the control arms to shift under braking torque, worsening the diving sensation. This often happens prematurely if suspension bolts were improperly tightened while the vehicle was lifted in the air rather than resting at normal ride height.
